Birdwatching at North River Ranch

North River Ranch is certified in the Audubon Conservation Ranching Program. This means we follow specific protocols for agriculture enterprises on our ranch-protocols that protect grassland birds.

That’s great for our environment- and great for birdwatchers, too! Because we are new to the program you won’t see us as a hotspot on ebird-yet! But if our first count conducted by the Missouri River Bird Observatory is an indicator, we’re a great place for birders to tick off a species on their list. Walking several transects over two days, they counted more than 60 species and over 800 birds on North River Ranch’s 2200 acres.
